Early Music

I have a passion for music in general. Actually, I like many styles of music. Mostly in periods of interest. But a very warm heart, I have for the early music. I studied recorder and harpsichord in the beginning of my conservatory study at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague, where I started in 1979. But also before that, I already had good teachers and gave concerts with early music performances in Vlaardingen, where I lived at that time. I also had the possibility to study the piano, but I preferred the recorder at that time.
Later I also began to study singing as a main course, and at that time it was not possible to do baroque singing at this conservatory. I gradually distanced myself from the early music. Then I started to practice more piano (and the fortepiano) and did my exam as a pianist.
A few years later I went back to the early music and started to play the viola da gamba and took lessons, also with Wieland Kuijken. So I returned to the early music again, gave concerts and started to make videos on YouTube.
Some years ago, I exchanged the gamba (viol) for the violin and that is where I am now. I both play the modern and the baroque violin, but because I have to make a living and earn my income with music, I cannot be choosy.
